Thomas F. Hartnett, GAA, CRB is a qualified expert in real estate valuation as designated by the U.S. District Court, Bankruptcy Court, and Circuit Court. He is a Certified General Appraiser for both South Carolina and Georgia and a licensed real estate broker in South Carolina. Mr. Hartnett served in the U.S. Congress from 1981 to 1987 representing South Carolina’s First District and previously served in the South Carolina legislature for sixteen years. He was awarded The Order of the Palmetto by Governor Edwards in 1994.

Janet T. Rugheimer, Business Manager, is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and is licensed in real estate sales in South Carolina. Raised and educated in Charleston, she has worked in real estate with a number of prominent Charleston firms. Her real estate career was interrupted from 1981 through 1986 when she served as Congressman Hartnett’s Executive Assistant in Washington, D.C.

William S. Smith heads the sales division of Hartnett Realty and works in commercial, residential and land sales. He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and South Carolina, and has handled through local association commercial sales in Georgia. He previously served as Executive Vice President of the Wells Management Company in New York City and as Senior Vice President and Partner with Herbert Mines Associates, also in New York.

Thomas F. Hartnett, Jr., has rejoined the family firm after working in the local shipping industry for the past several years. Tom attended the College of Charleston and has previously worked as an appraiser with the company. He is the third generation of his family to work with the Hartnett Realty Company. He is a licensed appraiser and is working toward his General Certification.
